At NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, we believe every Veteran deserves to be recognized and thanked for their service. Recently, we had the privilege of witnessing a truly moving tribute as Navy Veteran Tom Meisner was presented with a handmade quilt from the Quilts of Valor Foundation.

The 17th Annual Veterans Brunch is a heartfelt opportunity for our community to come together and give back to the men and women who have given so much through their service. On Sunday, November 8, 2026, local veterans will be welcomed for a meaningful Veterans Day observance filled with gratitude, fellowship and a freshly prepared meal. The gathering will take place at the Veterans Memorial Home, 524 Northwest Boulevard in Vineland.

This month we celebrate Beth Parkinson, LPN, and Fedtiana Exantus, CHHA of Egg Harbor Township, for their exceptional care for our patients and families and the wonderful feedback we received in letters and phone calls about their "WOW" service.

When people hear the words “bucket list,” they may picture faraway travel, big adventures, or once-in-a-lifetime dreams. Those can certainly be part of it. But a bucket list does not have to be expensive, complicated, or out of reach. Sometimes the most meaningful wishes are simple: sitting by the ocean, calling an old friend, baking a favorite recipe, visiting a place that holds memories, or spending an afternoon with someone you love.

"As we get older, little things like a #2 pencil seem to grow even more meaningful. They carry us back to earlier times, when handwritten notes mattered, school desks held tiny treasures, and ideas felt more personal because we shaped each letter ourselves," said Social Worker Lauree Lapidus with NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care. "We may not reach for pencils as often in this age of text messages and touchscreens, but they still have a place in our hearts."

There was no shortage of smiles at Ridgewood Senior Living in Historic Smithville, Galloway Township, as residents enjoyed an afternoon packed with games, prizes, and plenty of laughter. The Citizens Veterans Advisory Committee (CVAC) will host its 2nd Annual Veterans Benefit and Health Fair on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood, NJ.
