A Slice of Family Fun: Pizza Night

A little dough makes whole lot of family fun! Each year, the NJHealth Team gets treated to pizza—but this tradition has an extra-special twist: take-home pizza kits packed with dough balls, cheese, sauce, and pepperoni. Instead of simply serving up dinner, the kits gave staff a chance to turn pizza night into a family activity—with the kids joining in as budding pizza chefs. Our team embraced the challenge, and their creations deserve a moment in the spotlight!
“Everyone looks forward to sharing this activity with their kids, and it’s wonderful to hear how much fun they have making pizza together,” said Suzanne Martinelli, CEO at NJ Health Hospice and Palliative Care. “It’s more than a meal—it’s a chance to spend time together and make happy family memories.”

At their Galloway home, social worker Jamie Reichelt, husband Ed, and six-year-old son Nolan whipped up a first-class creation. With a family pizza project on the menu, dinner became part of the fun.
“Nolan had a great time, we all did, and it was absolutely delicious,” said Jamie.

Meanwhile in Egg Harbor Township, Olivia, 11 made a beautiful—and very tasty—pizza that could give any pizzeria a run for its money. Her grandmother, Teresa Brooks, RN/Case Manager, was thrilled to have someone else make dinner. A homemade pizza and a night off from cooking? Now that’s a delicious combination!

The pizza kits came from Pizza Queen in Vineland and Carluccio’s in Northfield, bringing a little pizzeria magic into our team’s homes. Judging by these creations, we know where they could find a few budding pizza chefs! Thank you, Suzanne, for a treat that brought more than pizza to the table—it served up a slice of family fun.
