A compassionate, educational podcast supporting patients, families, and caregivers navigating serious illness and end‑of‑life care
NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care proudly announces the launch of The LOOP Podcast, a new educational and compassionate listening series designed to support individuals and families navigating serious illness, end‑of‑life care, grief, and caregiving.
Hosted by Margie Barham, director of special projects and public relations, The LOOP brings meaningful, real‑world conversations to life with NJHealth’s expert team of healthcare professionals. Each episode reflects the conversations many people wish they could have with trusted providers—open, honest discussions that demystify hospice and palliative care while offering reassurance, clarity, and hope.
The podcast features insights from NJHealth’s experienced clinicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other end‑of‑life care specialists. Topics include navigating grief and loss, understanding what to expect when caring for a terminally ill loved one, how hospice and palliative care support both patients and caregivers, and practical ways to approach emotional and logistical challenges with compassion and confidence.

The inaugural episode, "Good Mourning," features Leslie Baruffi, NJHealth Hospice spiritual care coordinator. In this episode, Baruffi offers thoughtful insight into the grieving process and provides practical, supportive information to help individuals and families who are experiencing loss. Her compassionate perspective helps normalize grief while guiding listeners through what can feel like an overwhelming and deeply personal journey.
“Our goal with The LOOP is to create a safe, informative space where listeners feel supported and empowered,” said Barham. “These are conversations people are often afraid to ask about—but they are essential, human, and deeply meaningful.”
Designed for caregivers, families, healthcare professionals, and anyone seeking greater understanding of the end‑of‑life journey, The LOOP Podcast offers approachable, thoughtfully paced episodes grounded in clinical expertise while remaining deeply human and relatable.
Listeners can tune in at their convenience and explore topics at their own pace, making The LOOP Podcast an accessible and supportive resource during difficult and uncertain times. Through education, transparency, and empathy, NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care continues its commitment to serving the community with compassionate, expert care.
