At NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, our volunteers are key team members. When someone is facing one of life’s most tender moments, your presence—your time, your compassion, your willingness to listen—can make all the difference.
As a hospice volunteer, you don’t need medical training. What you bring is something deeply meaningful to hospice patients-- a human connection.
You might:
Sit with a patient and listen to their
stories
Offer companionship to someone who doesn’t want to be alone
Support caregivers who need a moment of respite
Help with office or community support projects
Share a simple act of kindness that brings comfort and dignity
Our volunteers often tell us they receive far more than they give—deep purpose, meaningful connections, and the quiet joy of knowing they made someone’s day a little brighter.
Whether you have a few hours a month or more time to share, there is a place for you on our team. Training is provided, schedules are flexible, and you’ll be supported every step of the way.
If you’re looking for a way to give back that truly matters, we invite you to join us.
Your presence can bring comfort.
Your time can bring peace.
Your compassion can change a life.
