A Little Ribbing, A Lot of Laughs on the Links

The recent Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament at Buena Vista Country Club was another outstanding event, bringing together local businesses and community supporters for a day of networking, friendly competition, and fun.
NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care is proud to support this annual tradition. Adding a unique twist to the day, NJHealth Team's Margie Barham, Director of Public Relations and Special Projects, joined GVCC Board Members Dan Chila of Elder Pest Control and Andrea Rivera of Main Street Vineland to provide commentary at the event's "Heckling Hole." Golfers were greeted with plenty of good-natured banter about their golf swings, attire, and scores—all in the spirit of fun and fundraising.
Players who preferred to avoid the playful ribbing could make a donation to the "Thin Skin Bucket," while many others eagerly contributed to encouraging even more heckling. The lighthearted activity proved to be a hit with participants.
By the end of the day, nearly $300 had been raised through the Heckling Hole, contributing to the tournament proceeds that helped support the Chamber's important work promoting local businesses and strengthening the Greater Vineland community.
"It began with an off-the-cuff idea during last year's event, " explained Chila about how the "heckling hole" began. "So, we gave it a try this year and it resulted in very entertaining day for both golfers and hecklers." Chila, who, by the way is quite good at heckling, said that because it was the inaugural year the hecklers took it easy on the golfers. "There are no promises to keep it easy in the future," he warned, with a grin.
