Here in Vineland Flag Day had a cheerful local twist this year at “Flags & Flowers: Honoring 250 Years of America” event. Hosted on the grounds of the Vineland Historical Society, the celebration brought together the Vineland Historical Society, the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary Club of Vineland for a day full of color, history, and community cheer.

Families, friends, and neighbors came together for a spirited mix of music, local history, and old-fashioned community fun. With live music, historical reenactments, a ceremonial reading of the Declaration of Independence, and members of the sponsoring organizations dressed in traditional period and patriotic garb, America’s founding story stepped off the textbook page and into the sunshine.

Keeping with this year's unique theme, the first 250 guests received American flags and flowers, a cheerful takeaway that blended patriotic pride with Vineland’s deep agricultural roots.

Teamwork Made the Celebration Bloom

Flags & Flowers was a wonderful reminder that great things happen when local organizations, businesses, and neighbors roll up their sleeves and work together. The result was a celebration that honored America’s story, spotlighted Vineland’s spirit, and gave the community one more reason to smile.

NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care was happy to take part as a proud member of the Vineland community, joining neighbors and partners in celebrating the history, heart, and hometown spirit that make the day so special.

“Events like Flags & Flowers remind us that patriotism is not only about honoring our nation’s past, but about how we show up for one another today,” said Suzanne Martinelli, CEO of NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care and a member of the Vineland Rotary Club. “As a community, we have the opportunity to come together, celebrate our shared values, and create moments of connection that truly matter. At NJHealth, we are honored to stand alongside our partners in supporting initiatives that bring people together and strengthen the spirit of Vineland.”

A big round of applause goes to the event workers and sponsors for making this day a reality:
