For many families, a conversation about hospice care is not a comfortable topic and often a difficult talk to have, but thoughtful planning can bring comfort, clarity, and peace of mind when it matters most.

This common concern is why NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care will present a special Lunch and Learn program "A Final Gift- Planning Ahead with Compassion and Clarity" on Wednesday, September 23, from noon to 2 p.m. at Cancer Support Community, formerly known as Gilda’s Club, 700 New Road, Linwood. The program will be presented by Community Educator Ottilie Parsons, RN, regional clinical liaison with NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, who will address common myths and concerns about hospice and explain how care options can support quality of life when circumstances change.

Hospice care is often misunderstood, yet planning ahead can help individuals and families make informed decisions before a health crisis occurs. The presentation will offer a compassionate overview of how hospice services can provide support, symptom management, and guidance while honoring each person’s wishes and values.

Parsons, who has spent her healthcare career in hospice care, will share her expertise on what everyone should know about choices and services for those with life-altering or terminal illnesses.

Attendees will enjoy a light lunch and the opportunity to win a $50 Wawa gift card courtesy of NJHealth. Registration is required by calling 609-926-2699.

The program will be held at Cancer Support Community, 700 New Road, Linwood.
