In honor of National Dog Day, the NJHealth Team is giving a heartfelt thank-you to the wonderful pet therapy duo who bring comfort, smiles, and gentle companionship to our hospice patients and families.
There is something truly special about the soft nudge of a cold, wet nose, the wag of a tail, and the quiet presence of a furry friend. For many of our dog-loving patients, a pet therapy visit can brighten the day, ease loneliness, spark happy memories, and bring a little extra love into the room.
We are so grateful for our dedicated hospice volunteers and their certified therapy pets, including Bronx (and his human Linda Karwowski) and Bobby and (his human Judy Nuss).
They are valued members of our circle-of-care team. These very special four-legged volunteers have a beautiful way of bringing warmth, comfort, and joy when it matters most.
Are you and your pet therapy certified? We would love to hear from you! To learn more about volunteering with NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, please call our Volunteer Coordinator at 856-696-5340.
