What began as a simple request turned into something truly extraordinary. Recently, NJHealth Hospice and Palliative Care reached out to the community with a unique ask—donations of neckties for a special surprise project. The response was heartwarming, but what happened next was nothing short of inspiring.
At Living Faith Alliance in Vineland, children from the community took those donated ties and transformed them into vibrant, one-of-a-kind creations. With markers, paint, glitter, bows, a few doodads and heartfelt imagination, each tie became a canvas of love—decorated with messages, patterns, and colorful expressions of appreciation.

In total, nearly 200 ties were lovingly designed, each one carrying a personal touch that reflects the joy and creativity of the children who made them.
These beautifully decorated ties were gifted for Father's Day to all men receiving our care --fathers as well as to individuals who may not have children of their own—ensuring that no one is forgotten on a day meant to celebrate connection, love, and remembrance.
At the heart of this meaningful initiative is NJHealth’s own Spiritual Care Coordinator, Chaplain Leslie Baruffi. With compassion and vision, Chaplain Leslie spearheaded the project, bringing together community partners and young artists to create something deeply personal and impactful for patients and families.

“This project reminds us that even the smallest gestures can make a lasting difference,” said Leslie. “Each tie tells a story and shares a little fun.”
For this Father's Day, these ties did more than complete an outfit—they will wrap recipients in warmth, thoughtfulness, and creativity.
